Picasso: Prasad Oak Starrer New Marathi Film To Be Screened At 10th Jagran Film Festival
Prasad Oak starrer upcoming Marathi film 'Picasso' will be screened at the prestigious 10th Jagran Film Festival on 28th September
National award winner actor, director Prasad Oak will now be seen playing an interesting role in an upcoming Marathi film Picasso. Produced by Shiladitya Bora - Platoon One Films, written and directed by Abhijeet Mohan Warang, this film is named after the famous painter Pablo Picasso for a reason.
Picasso will be screened at the 10th edition of the prestigious Jagran Film Festival, Mumbai on September 28th. It will also be screened at the 7th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival, Guwahati on September 29th. The makers of the film have shared the first poster on their Instagram handle
The film revolves around a 7th grade student Gandharva, played by child actor Samay Sanjeev Tambe, who lives in a remote village in Maharashtra with his ailing mother and troubled, alcoholic father Pandurang, played by Prasad Oak.
The story is about their passion for art and the struggle to arrange for funds, when Gandharva gets selected for the National Painting Competition and the winner has a chance to visit Picasso's birthplace Spain. Pandurang, who was once a passionate stage artist; has now succumbed to his addiction. Will he be able to fulfill his son's dream?
‘Dashavatara’, which is considered as one of the oldest forms of folk theatre in the world; that has its roots in India, is the central theme of this film. Picasso is the first Marathi film to document Dashavatra in its original format. The film is slated for a winter 2019 release.
